Difference between the two- bad and good cholesterol

Cholesterol is simply defined as a waxy, fat-like substance which is found in our cells. Cholesterol travel through the bloodstream in a packages known as lipoprotein. Lipoprotein are made of a fat inside and coated with protein. Cholesterol can be found in the food that we eat every day. The top five food sources of cholesterol are egg yolk, dairy product, oil, red meat and fast foods.

They are also categorized as bad and good cholesterol. Bad cholesterol or also known as low-density lipoprotein tends to accumulate in the walls of our arteries which caused slowing of blood flow and tend to leads to heart disease and heart attacks. On the other hand good cholesterol or high-density lipoprotein composes the 20-30% of our blood cholesterol and they are the one that helps protects the arteries from the plaques that are about to form in their wall. According to a study, women have higher level of HDL cholesterol than men.

Experts believe that people who are at high risk of having any cardiovascular disease will not/never lower their risk by just changing only their diet plans. Good diet and also regular exercise should always coincide.
