How safe is donating blood?


Blood donation is already a tradition in many cities in every country in order to use the blood to help treat someone. Is it done my collecting blood from a donor done by a medical professional. But before the procedure, the donor is being undergone by some medical assessment like getting his baseline temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. During the procedure of blood donation, a big caliber or needle is use to extract blood in order to collect about 470 ml of your blood. Then after the procedure you need to rest for a while and snack are offered for your refreshment and also to alleviate dizziness.

Many people are hesitant to donate blood because they are thinking that there are great possibility that diseases from other donor might transmit to them through the materials and equipment being use. For added information, blood donation is done aseptically by medical volunteer and every volunteer are trained to do it correctly.

Some of the things that cannot be avoided in donating a blood are having hypotension, hypoglycemia, trauma in the punctured site and others.Donating blood is very safe also if the program conducting it is one of those agency/company that has name and are trusted in your community.
